It was 7 days past my due date and I was impatient. My doctor told me what to do to induce labour. I did but I didn’t go to labour.
The following day at 6 pm, I could feel something changing in my system.
By 9 pm, there were slight discomforts but they could pass for stomach upset. My cousin advised me to visit the hospital. By 11am, I went to the hospital and turned back. In 2 hours, the pain had increased and I had to go back. Was admitted and by 5 am, the pains were so bad I almost lost control. My mum who was with me throughout, helped me go through every bit of it. At 9.50 am baby Tavia Wairimu Ndirangu was born weighing 3.3 kg. Anything else after that did not matter. Only Tavia did.
