Lips

Lips. Each of us has a pair. They vary, depending on one’s descent. Blacks have full lips, the Whites have thin ones and Asians have medium gentle curves with lots of colour.

Lips possess some of the most sensitive nerve endings. If there is anything a baby is born proficient in, it is suckling. No sooner is he cradled in his mother’s bosom than his lips do the searching. And should they find their target, the lips proceed with inherent expertise.

Other Purposes
Lips are for speech articulation (try saying ‘bimbo’ without using your lips). They play a role in digestion. Serving as the doorway to the mouth, lips aid in food intake and they keep the food therein in the process. And did you think about whistling? Again, lips are for showing affection, being an erogenous kissing zone

Lip Reading
They are an important component of facial expression. Lips tremble when we cry or when we are angry. When we smile, they sure spread wide. A close second to the eyes, they serve as a window to our being.

There is a lot more you can tell from looking at someone’s lips:

Pregnancy—Darker and fuller.
Hungry/Dehydrated—Dry.
Sick—Cracked/ pale, sometimes bleeding.
Anger—Creased to the centre into a pout.
Mischief—Curved to one upper side.
Disdain/disgust—Curved downward.
Indifference—Pulled to the sides but not into the smile.
Joy—Pulled to the sides towards the eyes.
Nervous/Passion—Quivering.
Perplexed—Shapeless/ non aligned.

That is why you need to keep your lips at their best: they are exposed to all and sundry!
