Celebrating Birth 14

Meet Joy Wanjala’s newborn!
My Experience

I was booked for a caesarean operation for 29th of April 2008. I had the opportunity of choosing the dates as it coincided with my twin sons 17th month birthday (we celebrate every month).

My admission was on 28/04/08 and I was totally anxious. Having gone through a CS before, I knew what to expect and of course was not looking forward to it but wanted to get baby out.

At 7 a.m. I was wheeled into the theater and baby Ivana Tera Nelima Wanjala was born at 7.40 am weighing 2.5kgs. She is so angelic and quiet compared to the boys but that, we will determine when she meets her brothers!! I am ecstatic and thankful to God for a safe delivery. As for my husband, his eyes are glued to her 24/7/365!!! Should I start feeling shortchanged??

My Experience: Catherine Ngare

I was admitted at Kenyatta Hospital with some minor labour pains on Thursday the 24th April at 9.40 am. I laboured for the whole day without success. When it reached around 2 am Friday morning that was when real labour came. I was taken to the labour ward where i was induced. I continued labouring for all that time until around 2pm that same Friday August the 25th April. I gave birth at 2.20 pm to a bouncing baby girl weighing 3.2 kg of God’s blessings. I didn’t have any complications so was discharged the following day. Both the baby and me are healthy.
