Esther Wahome’s experience with new baby

This is a legacy edition story. True stories of past pregnancies in yester days (or years), as published in Pregnant Magazine.

The first few days were tough for me and my husband as the baby would be awake for most of the night. We would therefore spend almost the whole night seated waiting for him to sleep. Eldad who is now a month an old has however adjusted and is sleeping more than before.

My experience this time is different as my boy suckles much more than Mitchell my first born did. He wants the breast almost throughout! I think his stomach is still small as he is not able to finish all the milk and because of this my breasts tend to become very painful.

But I have a reason to celebrate. I am back to my slim slender figure! In fact I am much smaller than before my pregnancy and I am excited about this. Shedding the weight is an answered prayer!

I am also back to work and especially actively involved in Vijana Tugutuke, a campaign urging youth who are of age to register as voters in the upcoming  general election.

I however have to carry my baby wherever I go as I want him to be on breast milk for some time. I have got him a baby sitter.

Mitchell my daughter is all excited about her small brother and is always by talking about the baby. One would think that Eldad is a famous person somewhere.

As for daddy he is always there, as usual, giving me all the support that I need– which is quite a bit! We have never been happier as a family.
