Irene Njenga — My Journey’s Best Moments

It is thrilling when your baby reacts to your touch by kicking. It feels as if a bond already exists and it is equally interesting to know that you are carrying another person inside you. Carrying a baby is one of the marvels of nature – very exhilarating! I have also enjoyed the support I have been receiving from everyone around me; my family, my fiance, my friends, everybody. It has been overwhelming to know that there are people to rub my feet, massage my back and generally just be there for me. All this makes feel like a princess. The thought of bringing a life into the world is beyond my imagination. There is also the feeling of a sense of responsibility that comes with knowing that I am going to take care of someone whom I believe, will one day become a respectable person in society.

My Fears!

Now that I am in the last trimester, I feel very tired. My feet ache and my back pains. At night I keep fidgeting to get a comfortable sleeping position. Sometimes I feel a lot of pressure in the abdomen and it becomes very difficult for me to walk. At times, my sleep is interrupted several times a night because my bladder is full so I have to get up and empty it and yet I have to wake up early and go to work. At work, my colleagues still expect me to perform my duties with as much enthusiasm as before. I am also worried about my body size, whether I will go back to my previous size.
