Set yourself free!

Do you ever get that feeling that you are a trapped pregnant woman, a prisoner of your own wardrobe? Whatever you do you cannot find a decent outfit to wear on that eventful evening. Or when you wear some African wear you feel and look ‘bloated’? Pastor Chola (see page 28) says he prefers his wife in trousers because African wear makes her look too big! What exactly does your man think about this?

It’s time to set yourself free! Yes, only you can untangle yourself from the maze that is your wardrobe. Plan ahead. You are getting larger, not smaller. It will not pay to drool over your pre-pregnancy outfits or droop over your lack of new ideas. Talk to a tailor about your predicament. A smart pregnancy outfit does not have to be expensive. It all depends on how it is designed, how well it fits you and how appropriate it is for the occasion.

You can opt to check out the increasing number of pregnancy stores offering pregnancy outfits for sale. Alternatively you may buy some cloth and get yourself some tailor-made attire.

Whichever the case remember, once again, that your tummy is growing. Therefore go for adjustable garments and those with elastic waistlines. Also buy some outfits which can later be re-tailored for your post-delivery days. In other words, always buy long term as very shortly— and nine months is a pretty short time as you will soon agree—you will be stacking away your pregnancy outfits if they cannot be reworked.

It is not just your pregnancy that’s happening at this time; it is Christmas time once again. Are you ready to set yourself free?
