Panty speak- Yes to more sex
Great sex calls for lots of attention and honest discussion to alley anxiety, fear and wipe out myths and misconceptions, says Esther Chege, Lamaze childbirth educator and a lactation consultant. She tells us more …
Expectant mums who come to my classes rarely bring up the sex subject, unless there is an infection or an unusual discharge in the vaginal. Many women, especially in the third trimester, have several issues regarding their bodies which range from lack or reduced libido to poor self body image. According to Sr. lrene, a Lamaze childbirth educator at the Nairobi Hospital, couples should freely discuss their sexuality. There are a myriad ways of making you desire more sex, despite the challenges the bump brings. The following would be interesting to consider.
Discharge Peeve
One of the greatest challenges your vagina has is the discharge. This is a common and normal pregnancy disorder and should only be of worry if the discharge is abnormal or varies a little. The normal vaginal discharge varies from little to moderate depending on the state of the weather and your personal hygiene. The kind of pant a woman wears also plays a crucial role in vaginal discharge.
Dressing Up
Nylon or silk pants are light and absorb little vaginal discharge and cause excessive friction as the woman walks hence increasing the need for more lubrication causing more discharge. Cotton is the way to go. They absorb the discharge effectively without causing a lot of friction. They also give a soft feel.
Happy cleaning
The result will not only be clean, but less wet too – a more comfortable situation for sexual enjoyment. When the cleaning homework is not done, the opposite is true – lots of wetness and odour, making you hesitant for a sex party Bath twice daily and use panty liners – for a fresh feel. Treat any abnormal discharge or possible infection promptly.
No-no to lubricants
Vaginal lubricants such as KY Jelly, Hibitane cream or any other lubricant is not advisable during sex unless your doctor advises so. Most lubricants destroy the normal floral bacteria in the birth canal increasing the risk of infections. This is especially from the fingers that are commonly used to apply them.
