Mama-My inspiration

What would I do without my mother? Whenever I ask this question I always shudder even as I wonder what my life would be like without her. My mother is a part and parcel of my life; I knew her even before I made entry into this world. Today I am a grown woman with my own family but I still go back to her for invaluable free consultations-without thinking twice.

Mother knows it all; mothers are sort of omnipresent; mother knows when all is not well with me despite being miles away from me. Today I can honestly say that she is the wisest woman I know. Ironical, given the days when I thought she was just an old fashioned woman that was out to mess up my life. My mother was my first teacher.

She patiently encouraged me to tie my shoe laces properly even as I made yet another wrong move. And as I look at my two children, deep inside, I squeal with delight. I enjoy mothering, and I intend to keep on doing so. Someone said that mothering is addictive. They were right. Whether your mother is here or not, whether you have children of your own or not, mothering is an indelible part of you. It comes naturally, like the love of a mother for her child.

We celebrates motherhood. We hail motherhood. The significance of a rich relationship with our mothers cannot be overemphasized.

Happy motherhood.
