Tips on how to groom yourself

Wearing make-up will help boost your confidence and make you feel better about your appearance, even if you only wear a bit of it. Remember that it does not have to be the entire full make-ups that take up time; you can have a few touch ups here and there to enhance certain areas and hide others. We give you a few guidelines on how to go about it.

To achieve a well groomed look whilst avoiding heavy make-up, ensure that you have no harsh make-up lines round the eyes. The secret is to blend thoroughly.

You should always avoid concealers that have either or orange undertones as they only highlight rather than hide imperfections or discolorations may have.

If you do not want to wear any make- up, try sweeping a large brush loaded with bronzing powder over your skin to create a healthy-looking golden finish.

You will get more mileage from your lipstick if you apply it with the brush, it is estimated that this way there are twenty or more applications to be had.

If your eyes need brightening, it is a good idea to use sheer enlivening shades of creamy beige, iridescent pearl, soft lilac or see through wine eye color.

For blondes and those with fair hair, brown mascara is a more natural- looking option than black; if more definition is needed, a brown/black variety is suitable.

If you want your blusher to look really natural once you have applied it, choose a shade that resembles your skin color when you blush naturally.

The tone of your skin will change with seasons, so adapt the colour of your foundation to suit by adding light or dark powder to subtly warm it or cool it down.

If you do not have concealer at hand you can always use a brush dipped in foundation to cover any unsightly blemishes or under-eye circles.

If you want to wear a really pale shade of the eye shadow try adding definition to the eyes with a pencil and mascara to avoid the chance of looking washed out.
