Shy Moments 32

Shoe trouble
I had a training workshop after a tiring day at work the previous day. The workshop went on great all through the day, except in the afternoon, during a break, I realized the shoe laces on my shoes were a different colour. A closer peak at my shoes revealed that I had worn two different types of shoes, one brown, and the other black. The shoe laces were the only thing they had in common. I contemplated rushing into my car and changing into a pair of sneakers but it was too late since I made the entire presentation like that!

Emotions
When I was seven months pregnant, I was an absolute emotional wreck. I was sitting on the couch with my cat when he got up and stepped on my stomach. It hurt so I picked him up and made him get off the couch. He started to leave the room, then turned around and looked at me. To me he ‘looked so sad’ that I burst into tears. My husband walked in (used to this whole crying thing) and asked me what was wrong. I told him the cat looked sad. He thought it was so funny…it took about five minutes to calm me down. Damn those hormones!

Leaky moments
It was my first week back at work after taking three months off, for maternity leave. I was sitting in a meeting with my boss when my hand grazed against my chest…that’s when I realised that I had soaked through my nursing pad, bra and shirt. I looked up and sheepishly asked to be excused and quickly dashed out, if only to save myself from further embarrassment!

Moving tummy
We bought a puppy about the same time I was pregnant with my first child. When my husband was not around, she would take his spot on the bed. During the day, I would also put her on my lap since I was now addicted to that new puppy smell. Well, when I was about six months pregnant she was laying on me and I guess the baby must have kicked really hard because immediately she bolted upright and started barking like crazy. It was absolutely hilarious to see her barking at my moving tummy! Needless to say she never slept on my tummy again.
