Your word …37

Hello,

I read the Test-tube Babies article in Issue 36 of Baby Love. It was very enlightening—making me understand how Kenyan Law is going about family issues. Keep more of such coming.

Hi BabyLove,
I have been keeping track of Gentle Unfolding – the HIV-Positive’s Diary. I’m now so keen on what’s going to happen to Grace that I keep checking out for the next edition of BabyLove. By the way, is this a true story?
Sarah M – Mombasa

Hello Sarah,

Yes, Gentle Unfolding is a true story from a HIV-positive woman’s diary – only that a fictitious name is used to conceal her identity. Turn the pages of this edition to find what transpired next. Enjoy your reading!

Hi! Going through BabyLove is enticing me to get more kids. The way the magazine celebrates birth and goes on to offer information on how to take care of our children as they grow makes a mother feel very much at home. Congratulations BabyLove!
Laura M – Kiambu

Thank you, Laura. It is good to know that BabyLove is impactful and therefore achieving its objective of educating and entertaining parents.
The team, with your insight, feels re-energised to remain purposeful.

Editor’s Word
My name is Baby Love. This is the second month since my mum, Pregnant magazine, set me out on my own. I have felt quite tender-footed out here, but hey, babies are born to grow up!

So here I am; laden with what it takes to make every BabyLoving parent happy, at ease, ignited—to say the least. I have made a point of packing myself with fun, insight, gentle baby-care tips, drool-some delicacies, stories…just so you have whatever it takes to see your babies grow to be the kind of good people they are meant to be.

As I go about my day putting together all these informative features and stories, I come across lots of great, inspiring stuff as well as some equally depressing news. That lots of babies are dying before the age of five. That others are affected permanently by illnesses that could have been avoided. Yet other have been injured irreversibly in accidents that parents, guardians, teachers, househelps, neighbours, etc. could have easily prevented.

In the same breath, I get to learn about children who have been brought up successfully. And to hear about love and care and warmth.

When a working mum strives to breastfeed her baby for two years; or a dad leaves work promptly to get home and play with the kids; or a househelp tucks in a baby in the afternoon for that well deserved nap; or a neighbour escorts to safety a child threatened by a roadside dog…what can I call all these stories, other than true Baby Love?

Happy BabyLoving to you all!

Baby Love
