Growing Baby – MYTHS ABOUT BABY DELIVERY AND GROWTH
According to one tribe from Western Province in Kenya, a woman should not look at a cooking pot during the first week after she has delivered. If it is a baby girl stay away from the kitchen for up to three days and if a baby boy keep away for four days. The reason? The baby will become cross-eyed!
Another tribe from Central Kenya believed that striding over a baby would cast a curse on the baby’s life and the baby would not grow tall. To remedy this, a person who strode over a baby, even accidentally or to avoid stepping on the baby, would have to retrace his or her steps by striding backwards over the baby!
It is rumoured among some mothers that some babies are born with a cradle cap (a whitish scar on top of their head) because their mother had regular sex while pregnant — and the whitish stuff is sperm deposits!
