There is Life after December

It’s amazing the way we undo all the effort made in the last of couple of months by eating with reckless abandon in the last remaining days of the year. Why do we do this? This holiday season brings with it opportunities to eat and over eat and we easily accept all these invitations gladly.

It’s time for a change. Let the end of 2015 be different! Break the monotony of having the same old same old same old New Year’s resolution of losing weight because you overindulged in December and the clothes in your wardrobe are “suddenly rather tight”

It’s time to focus on other things when 2016 comes around and not the same old weight loss story that begins with high energy in January and quickly that fizzles out by end of February. Yes you know what I am talking about. I also confess that I know very well what I am talking about. I talk from experience. I invite you to be different this year. Let’s re-write the future together?

It’s time to slow down a little and as we make merry during this festive season, practice self-control, restraint especially on sweets and chocolates, junk food and alcoholic drinks which are all high in calories. Opt for smarter choices especially with fruits and vegetables. Stuff yourself with healthy things first so that when you get to the sweets and savouries the capacity to over indulge will be significantly less.

It’s time to rethink my constant school of thought that calls for “living for the moment, enjoying life and paying for my sins later.” Weight loss is a challenging journey that gets harder with age and so calls for wisdom before we over indulge.

This Christmas I have resolved to eat sensibly, put only what I am sure I will finish onto my plate. Please join me in my resolution.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a fit, healthy and stress free 2016.
