Motherly Love – Ethan, You Stole My Heart
A message of motherly love.
To Ethan – The little man who stole my heart and kept it
On Monday 18th November 2013 at 6:05 a.m.
I was the very first one to touch you as you were born.
You have brought me nothing but pure joy since that very first moment.
Watching you grow, absorbing the world around you, inquisitive and delighted to learn, I’m reminded each day of the treasure you bring into my world. You inherited your father’s gentle eyes (and everything else) that provide a window to your pure soul.
I named you Ethan after its Hebrew meaning;
strong, firm, and safe,
which is what I know you will always be.
Your middle name Mali, symbolizing wealth, is quite fitting.
Your names suit you perfectly.
The past 13 months have been the best in my life. I have watched you grow and develop your own little personality. Your belly laughs make everyone giggle. Your innocence and the love that you show everyone is a blessing that I will never take for granted.
Your wonder and awe of everything around you never ceases to amaze me. You see everything for what it is as a whole without any other thought. You are so completely present in every situation and because of that you are able to appreciate the little things so fully.
You are continuously teaching me something new and wonderful.
Even though you have your own little cot, somehow we still find ourselves co-sleeping every night.
Maybe it’s because I want to wake up and the first thing I see should be your beautiful face which inspires me to become a better mom and a better person.
I want you to know that your life has made such a profound difference in mine and in the lives of all that have met you and love you deeply. You make the world a better place just by being here. I can only imagine what amazing things you will do and accomplish in the future, because at just thirteen months you are already living life to the fullest.
As all mothers do, I have goals, dreams and wishes for you. I have, as you can imagine, dozens of them, but today I will limit myself to reminding you that I love you to the moon and back and then to infinity and beyond! I love you my little man Ethan Mali Mokua.
